Welcome to Ms. Baucco's First Grade Classroom!

Hello! My name is Raechel Baucco and this is my second year teaching. Last year I taught two half day preschool classes at McKinley Elementary School. I am very excited to be teaching first grade this year as a member of the Skipper family! My goal this year to create and maintain a classroom environment that gives each and every one of my unique students the opportunity to grow and succeed not only cognitively, but physically and socially as well. I want all of my students to feel safe to share their ideas and take risks, even if it means they might make a mistake. I believe it is how we bounce back from our mistakes that define us.

About Our School: McKinley Elementary School

International Baccalaureate

McKinley Elementary School is an International Baccalaureate school. We focus on attributes and attitudes that enable students to be active participants in their learning and teaches them to be global citizens. Each classroom will work together to create and follow an essential agreement, which is an agreement of how the class will run. It consist of things the teacher and students CAN do to aid in the learning environment.

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports

McKinley Elementary school is a gold medal school for their positive behavior supports. We strive to encourage students to exhibit positive behavior throughout the school day and be role models for others by rewarding desired behavior in a variety of ways. Students are expected to follow the McKinley Motto everywhere in the building.We focus on the character traits: honesty, dedication, responsibility, and being a good citizen. Students earn McBucks for demonstrating these traits and can use their money to buy prizes and participate in incentive programs.
